great, i'm sitting since 5 hours at the airport in lima and wait for my flight which should leave in 2 hours..... pah, nothing.. flight had been cancelled due to too less people....so i have to wait 6 more hours to get the flight at 10 am... uffff 11 hours on the tiled floor doesn't makes my mood better... but the best is that i made a mistake with my booking and i have to pay 25 usd extra... waaaahhh... i deserve a long sleep... but nevertheless my excitement for peru can't be brocken that easily and when i'm in cusco everything will be allright... hawaii was pretty cool and very bad for my liver .. had a lot of fun and too much drinks... the weather wasn't as good as i expected but i spend the most time on the beach with swimming, playing games and rent a cool ford mustang for a joyride through the island.. during this ride we saw great waves and lovely beaches with the awesome volcano landscape... that's hawaii in short

3 days later.....

hmm... yup i had a lovely night at the airport... this was 3 days ago and i'm already finished with cusco... after my arrival in the afternoon i had to explain on the phone, in spanish, that i'm at the airport in cusco and need a pick up... the problem was that i doesn't speak spanish .... after a while we worked it out and i took a taxi to my hostel... which was really nice actually, the hostel... i went straight to bed after they told me that machu picchu (which was the main reason why i went to peru) is no accessible due to the last weeks floodings which destroyed parts of the railway... yup, my luck is following me in peru ...

so i went to bed straight ahead and get up at 4 am the next day... 4am, wow i was smashed... i couldn't sleep anymore so i used the time to find out what to do instead of machu picchu... there are so many things to do and i had too choose... but it must be cool and cheap... btw, don't expect peru to be cheap... i learned a fast lesson ... so i made a nice sightseeing tour through cusco and hiked up to a former fortress... what a cool thing they made so long time ago.. wow... and the best was i met a real inca shaman... it was a weird man but i bought cool lucky charms from him )... and he also cleared my energy flow (for free, i bought so much, haha)... and he told me the same thing as the hand reader in cambodia "you'll get very old and find soon a girl to marry"... what the f***, who needs that... the only thing i want is what everybody wants ===> get unbelievable RICH !!!!! oooohhhh yyeeeaaahhhh.....

but he said no word about that so i have to find another spiritual person which is forecasting my fortune hohoho......

after the cool fortress i went to a place where they sacrified things, animals and people to warship their gods... actually there was none of this shows going on anymore because the spanish stopped it, a few hundred years ago .... so i went further and visited an another small fortress and a place with some water plays... whatever they were for... at the waterplace a thunderstorm was coming up and it started slightly to rain.. so i decided to go back to the city and have dinner...

i took one of this so called collectivos which are just small buses for 10 people... as we drove down the driver stopped after a while and went out of the bus.. what is going on, hmm... the driver took a bucket got some water from the ditch (thanks ginger for teaching me this word = ginger+motorbike+ditch) and cooled the breaks of the bus... whaaatttt.... now i was really afraid to stay in this vehicle down this narrow and turning road.. but, at this stage i didn't know that it's getting better hrhrhr... so we went further with water cooled fuming breaks and it started raining like out of buckets... as a further explained this buses are designed for 10 people.. not valid in peru and a lot of other places in the world.. i had no space to move that much after the bus was full, and i mean really full... i only counted to 23 and i'm pretty sure i missed some people.. hohoho.... that was much fun with all the people standing and sitting on my feet, legs, arms and partially on my shoulder and head... it was pouring outside and i still had this steaming breaks in my head.. after a while the bus controller which collects the money and opens the sliding door asked me in spanish if i want to go to placa del armas... i don't understood everything but i said yes and kept seated.. after a while i realized that he's trying to tell me that i have to get of the bus here... after i climbed ofter 10 persons i made it out of the bus into the rain ;(... 5 seconds and i was totally soaked... i actually had the rain jacket in my bag, where it kept dry .... so i put on my rain jacket and made my way back to downtown... which took a time because i lost my track, as usual.... back to the city i went for some food, did some shopping and ran around the touristic sites to watch people on the street...

wow i wrote pretty much for 2 days and one was only hanging at the aiport + sleeping

the next day i got up at 4 am.. ones again, there must be something.. so i worked out (i think i worked it out) that i have a jet lag... and a sunborn on my arms + neck... sun is pretty strong up here (3.500m)... i tried to get back to sleep but it doesn't work, yet.. so i spend my time with watching movies and planning my next steps... after a while i made it back to sleep and got up at 9... oohhh... i forgot to tell the people from the hostel that i stay one more night.. so i went down after a quick shower to tell them that i stay one day longer.. problem, no hombre... i went back to my room to get a short nap and woke up at 1 pm... hola..... a bit late... so i kicked myself out of the bed, or i tried until i recognised that it was still raining like in the morning... actually it was pouring... i made the best out of it and went back to bed hrhrhr... i woke up at 3 and it wasn't raining anymore.. yeahh... i took all my power to push myself out of the bed / room and went to the travel agency to buy a bus ticket to puno for tomorrow... it took a while to purchase the ticket because the girls english was a bit beter than my spanish.. we had a lot of fun without understanding each other... i'm really looking forward to my spanish course in argentina, hola evita... afterwards i went to the peruvian version of mcdonalds.. hmm... wasn't the best choice.. i tried the inca cola and the taste reminds of a similar drink from home but i have no idea which it was... at was already 5:30 when i went back to the hostel to wait for the darkness to go out again and make nice pictures of the city... after watching another stupid movie i went back to the city to take my pictures.. surounded by streetsellers i gave my best to get good shots of the main attractions by night...

actually i felt pretty safe in the city at night.. despite the info in the guides and from the tourist information... there was such a big police presence that it was almost impossible to commit a crime, which wasn't my intention.. i liked the presence of the police especially the female one... ooohhh they look good with their spanish touch... rrrrr... they look almost as good as the female israeli soldiers... ohohoho.... girls + uniform what a combination... okok.. focus robert focus... i said focus robert!!!

ok, gonna stop writing now because it's already 2:30 am and i guess i'll be up again at 4... so have a good rest, or good morning whereever you are..

xxx

robert

oz+new zealand, short version ;)

when i started to write this blog i still was in australia... took a few days (10) to finish it and i'm already in hawaii now hmm... i:m writing in the same speed as i worked in my last job )))

so don't get confused and let's start:

wow, it's my last day in australia and i managed to write only on comment in 2 months... so lazy... so i'm sitting now at the public area in the hostel in melbourne and try to kill the hours until i fly out to new zealand... so what happened the last weeks... i ended up in sydney on the 21st of december and stayed there until the 5th of february... so i spend a lovely christmas in sydney with a rainy party in the 24th and a even more rainy one on the 25th.... so there was no big party on bondi beach except for the weather resistent and we were not that kind of people, we're more drinking resistent .... and the next days went on in the same way with a lot of fun a great birthday party and awesome new year celebration... on the 31st we went to the botanic gardens and queued up at 8 in the morning and waited in the line for about 3 hours... but we kept us untertained with coffee, rain, chips and wodkajelly ;... the rest of the day we spent on waiting for the new with hanging around in the parksite, playing cards, listening to music, covering from the slight rain and for sure we spend a lot of time with beer... so the hours passed by and the first fireworks started at 9 when we found out that our place wasn't that good at as we thought... we had a clear view to the bridge but the big fireworks was on the left and right hand side which was totally covered by hughe, old trees.... ok, not the best view to the fireworks but it could be worse... so it went midnight and we were excited to see the big fireworks, through the trees ))).... actually we missed the exact time of the year change.... hmmm.... but we made it to the new year and to our bar afterwards... i stayed a few more days in sydney and moved further to melbourne on the 5th where i stood for a couple of days... in melbourne i rented a car and went to the australian southcoast where i drove up the great ocean road... unbelievable coast scenery with the southern ocean which was pretty cold... but we had 43°C so the little cold was very welcome... back to melbourne i took the plane to hobart, which is tasmania ... i went on a 10 day 4WD trekking trip through the countryside which was defenitely one of the highlights of my travel so far... we got 2 jeeps and went to the tasmanian wilderness... where we saw a lot of wallabies, wombats, an achidna, yellow tailed black cacadoo and for sure the tasmanian devil.... it was really fun to sleep under the stars and to have a very good sight of the milky way... love it... we also went through all kind of weather which started with windy light rain over heavy rain to beautiful sunny days with a uv radiaton which grills you in minutes ... after this wonderful days i went back to melbourne to get my plane to new zealand... from melbourne i went to new zealand for just 4 days... i flew to auckland and got a very nice chinese owned hostel... it was one of the cleanest hostel i've ever been... so i spend a couple of days to visit auckland which is a nice city with a view attractions... the vulcano crater is cool to climb and the aquarium was pretty cool.... after a couple of days in auckland i made my way to honolulu HAWAIIIIIIIIIIIII.... where i'm now and enjoy the days on waikiki beach... so far the weather was not that good with rain and strong wind but it should get better... i know that i was pretty lazy with my writing the last time but i really work on the topic to get my inspiration back.. hmmm, where is my in inspiration it's called budweiser hrhrhhrrhr.... ok reader i leave and try to watch a cool movie... aloha kakou here a few links to some photos:

fraiser island and down to sydney

huha, what an experience to be on fraiser island... sand, sand, sand and more sand... but this island had much more... beautiful lakes with a fine, white sand i've never seen in my life... a clear water that you can drink out of the lake and make funny sandball match, a bit disgusting but fun... we gave ourself a nice peeling with the lovely sand too, sooo no old skin anymore... but let's start from the beginning... the group was set up by the organizing company and they put a lovely team together.. we had been 5 german, 2 english, 1 korean and me the austrian guy... we got a toyota jeep which brought us everywhere on the island... we went to the ferry and there we had our first surprise, we were to heavy... so we had to get rid of 200kg!!!! after funny, relaxed discussions with the ferry workers we had to get red only of 40kg.. but what to take away? beer, goon (wine) noooo wayyy.... so we dropped of one passenger .. no kidding... we had to ged rid of one person and put him on another jeep... so we catched the ferry and went on to our exciting adventure on fraiser island... after a cold can of beer on the ferry we set our car tires on the sand and brought our jeep to its borders.... we had very good excited drivers which drove us safely to the beautiful lake and the camp for the night... joe and i preferred to sit on the back and enjoy the warm beer ... in the evening the girls took care of the food and the men set up the tents and washed the dishes... the night was pretty fun and short... we went to a aborigine show... which ended with a lot of goon and painted faces... the next day i was waked up by a dingo which sniffed my face... at this time i realized that i slept outside because it was to hot in the tent... but i had no spiders or snakes in my sleeping bag... the 2nd day we went up to indian head where we saw a lot of sharks, rays and turtles.. afterwards we walked further to the champaign pools on a long beach without shadow and the sun burning down without mercy... heat, heat and more heat... sh****.... the champaign pools got their name from the white foam which is swepped into them from the waves... very nice view and a lovely bath in the secured area which is seperated from the bad, dangerous sea oohhh i didn't mention that you're not allowed to swim in the sea on fraiser island, why not? simple, you have very strong currents which sucks you to the open sea and if you're still the alive the sharks will secure that you're not coming back ;( so nobody wants that and we all stayed away from the water... did you know that some sharks can swim until kneedeep? no, bullsharks can do that and they are very agressive... it's a waste that you cannot swim in this beautiful water... after the even hotter walk back to the car we went up to a lovely drinking water creek and cooled down there.. back to the camp we made a nice dinner to get prepared for the drinking games in the evening... after some beer we went down to the beach to enjoy one of the best views of the sky i'ver ever seen... there is no light no island so the view is pretty clear and you can see the milky way.. amazing view and a lot of shooting stars... but the most amazing thing was the moonwalk... if you slide through the wet sand the plankton starts to illuminate and it looks you see hundreds of small light sparks on the floor... awesome... dancing to the rhythm of the guitar and the lightspots under you... wow...... and the goon made the rest to have a nice atmosphere hrhrhr.... the next day we had to say good bey to the island so we went to a lonely lake ate the rest of yesterdays dinner and made our way to the ferry.. back to the hostel we went for a last beer and everybody went early to bed.. the next day i took the bus to byron bay via brisbane... the drive was good but in brisbane my whole camera equipment had been stolen... so i arrived in byron bay totally angry and just went to bed after my arrival at the hostel.. the next day i went to the police where they told me i have to go back to the the other state and report the crime there... so the next day i went up to surfers paradise, made my report and went back down to byron... i spend a couple of days in byron with relaxing, get some surfing hours and did kajaking on the sea with some wave riding .... in byron i met a lovely swedish couple which offered me a ride down to sydney.. so i travelled with them the last days and will be in sydney on the 22nd... prepare for christmas .. on the way down i had seen coffs harbour, hat heads national park, the biggest moving sand dune from the southern hemisphere in port maguirie... and ended up in newcastle tonight... very relaxing trip with a lot of sleep on the backseat of the car... tomorrow we go to the blue mountains which is the last stop on our trip before we will arrive in sydney... so this is it for now and i'll try to get a new lovely camera to support you with amazing fotos from my sooooooo awesome trip...

singapore, brisbane and more

so here i am again... sitting on the upper bed and try to write down my experiences from the last 2 weeks... it's pretty hard to remember because the last 10 days were heavy and i think i slowly get a brain damage from the tons of alcohol....

ok, getting serious... i spend a few days in singapore only recovering from a food poisoning... costs me almost 3 days only doing a few things outside.. the hot and humid weather doesn't made it much better... singapore is a very nice and clean city... it isn't so that you'll get the death penalty for spitting on the floor but the signs for how you have to behave are all over the city and shows the fine you'll have to pay.. they are pretty high so i avoided to break one of the rules which was sometimes really hard.. when you're sitting in the metro and just want to drink your water, than you realize that you get a fine of around 500€ if they catch you... yup, life can be hard... i spend 2 evenings on sentosa which is a big island wich belongs to singapore.. there i made this awesome pics from the sunset which for sure be soon available on facebook... singapore by itself doesn't have that much sights but the flair of this city is lovely... so i recovered from my food poisoning and my body told me : let's rockn roll... which i did with the british guys at CLARK QUIA... for a long long night ... so the next day it was time for hung over... i did nothing... except in the evening i went back to CLARK QUIA with Lars and we got some beer.. we ended up in a reverse bungi which was pretty nice.. video is also available on facebook... after this night i had to leave singapore and went on to australia... once again with a slight hung over and a bad flight to brisbane, my first stop in Oz... i couldn't sleep any minute on the plane so i was bit destroyed when i arrived in brissi.... there i got on the train and tried to find my way to the hostel... it was such a warm and helpful welcome already at the airport... huh, we european can learn a lot from this guys what it means to treat visitors like visitors .... so with some help i found my hostel quite easily and was there at 9 am... which means i had to wait until 1pm to get my bed in my room... so i went for a nice walk along the river get a little bit of food and slept a little bit on the sofa in the lobby area... at least i got my bed but found no sleep anymore.. organizing my next trips, maps from the city, i was very enthusiastic to be a good tourist and do all the touristic stuff... as i said before, i was... in the evening i went down to the bar for a beer and came back to my room at sunrise.. wow.. day number 1 and 2 were gone.... having very noisy roommates doesn't made it much better so i didn't get that much sleep which i tried to catch up during the day... and guess what, next night same thing... but i had to get up the next day early to go to the coala sanctuary... yup, i wasn't sure who smelled more, me or the coala... and they really stink... so i went to the sanctuary and tried to enjoy which wasnt't hard for me in a zoo, because i love animals.. so i was cuddling a coala and pat some kangaroos.. lovely.. taking pictures my day went pretty well and this night i made it home early and without drinks.. i'm a brave man ... yeah but my lovely roommates thought they are alone in the room and had a good party there, without me because i wanted to sleep.... so i had no drink but only a few hours of sleep again.. i think my body already got used to only 4 hours of sleep.. the next day was sightseeing and exploring brisbane, this was good because it was my last day there .. so a nice day of a bit shopping, i bought some new running shoes and used them in the evening to go for a nice jog beside the river and in the park... the last evening needs to be celebrated and so i did... remember only that i had to pay 10 AUD for a beer.. wow... a bit expensive.... on saturday i made myself on the way to mooloolaba where i'm now to visit the "australian zoo" from steve irving (crocodile hunter)... i arrived at the hostel and i doesn't took long to find bunch of dudes to drink... yup, it put outside that the boys on a JUNGGESELLENABSCHIED and they invited me to come with them.... guess how the night ended... you have no idea.. i had to go home earlier because at an irish pub they didn't accept my austrian ID... i wasn't that sad about that because my body condition was ready for going home.... so i got to bed at 1:30 am and got some hours of sleep.. today was the day for the australien zoo... i never saw a zoo like that before where you're so close to the animals and the entertainment was soooo goood.... i really loved the zoo and would like to go there again... it was amazing to see this hughe crocodiles and you can go through a rain forest and the exotic birds fly all around you.... wow... or to see how they feed the crocodiles.. amazing.... tomorrow i will go to harvey bay and from there to fraiser island for a 3 days jeep safari.... so don't worry guys i'm really doing also different things then party but as you know as a traveller you have to adapt to the local custom ;=) so i will hopp on the greyhound bus tomorrow afternoon and go to the biggest sand island in the world....

see you later alligator

ps fotos will come later.. the mcdonalds free wifi is sooooo slooooow and i'm to cheap to buy an internet hour for 4 bucks ;(... tooo expensive....

went back to CLARK QUIA with Lars and we got some beer.. we ended up in a reverse bungi which was pretty nice.. video is also available on facebook... after this night i had to leave singapore and went on to australia... once again with a slight hung over and a bad flight to brisbane, my first stop in Oz... i couldn't sleep any minute on the plane so i was bit destroyed when i arrived in brissi.... there i got on the train and tried to find my way to the hostel... it was such a warm and helpful welcome already at the airport... huh, we european can learn a lot from this guys what it means to treat visitors like visitors .... so with some help i found my hostel quite easily and was there at 9 am... which means i had to wait until 1pm to get my bed in my room... so i went for a nice walk along the river get a little bit of food and slept a little bit on the sofa in the lobby area... at least i got my bed but found no sleep anymore.. organizing my next trips, maps from the city, i was very enthusiastic to be a good tourist and do all the touristic stuff... as i said before, i was... in the evening i went down to the bar for a beer and came back to my room at sunrise.. wow.. day number 1 and 2 were gone.... having very noisy roommates doesn't made it much better so i didn't get that much sleep which i tried to catch up during the day... and guess what, next night same thing... but i had to get up the next day early to go to the coala sanctuary... yup, i wasn't sure who smelled more, me or the coala... and they really stink... so i went to the sanctuary and tried to enjoy which wasnt't hard for me in a zoo, because i love animals.. so i was cuddling a coala and pat some kangaroos.. lovely.. taking pictures my day went pretty well and this night i made it home early and without drinks.. i'm a brave man ... yeah but my lovely roommates thought they are alone in the room and had a good party there, without me because i wanted to sleep.... so i had no drink but only a few hours of sleep again.. i think my body already got used to only 4 hours of sleep.. the next day was sightseeing and exploring brisbane, this was good because it was my last day there .. so a nice day of a bit shopping, i bought some new running shoes and used them in the evening to go for a nice jog beside the river and in the park... the last evening needs to be celebrated and so i did... remember only that i had to pay 10 AUD for a beer.. wow... a bit expensive.... on saturday i made myself on the way to mooloolaba where i'm now to visit the "australian zoo" from steve irving (crocodile hunter)... i arrived at the hostel and i doesn't took long to find bunch of dudes to drink... yup, it put outside that the boys on a JUNGGESELLENABSCHIED and they invited me to come with them.... guess how the night ended... you have no idea.. i had to go home earlier because at an irish pub they didn't accept my austrian ID... i wasn't that sad about that because my body condition was ready for going home.... so i got to bed at 1:30 am and got some hours of sleep.. today was the day for the australien zoo... i never saw a zoo like that before where you're so close to the animals and the entertainment was soooo goood.... i really loved the zoo and would like to go there again... it was amazing to see this hughe crocodiles and you can go through a rain forest and the exotic birds fly all around you.... wow... or to see how they feed the crocodiles.. amazing.... tomorrow i will go to harvey bay and from there to fraiser island for a 3 days jeep safari.... so don't worry guys i'm really doing also different things then party but as you know as a traveller you have to adapt to the local custom ;=) so i will hopp on the greyhound bus tomorrow afternoon and go to the biggest sand island in the world....

see you later alligator

ps fotos will come later.. the mcdonalds free wifi is sooooo slooooow and i'm to cheap to buy an internet hour for 4 bucks ;(... tooo expensive....

cambodia

I'M IN SINGAPORE, and i reached my final destination in asia... but there had a lot of things happened between my last entry and my arrival here.... so i went from laos down to cambodia and started my cambodia travel in the capital, phnem penh... which is totally different to all laos... it's loud, it's more dirty, many cars and there is a KFC... but what is here to see... a few temples, the indepency monument, the kings palace and at least the horrible S21, toul sleng... the first day i spend in my aircon room and enjoyed the TV with english movies... yeaaahhhh.... i need a break and get some food which i hopefully will not throw up again (food poisoning)..... ok, where have i been.. hmm... ahja, phnom penh... the real sights at phnom penh are S21 and the killing fields... but what is S21 alias Toul Sleng... it is the most famous and brutal interrogation prison from the former khmer rouge where in almost 4 years 14.000 people were killed.. only around 7 survived... so i went there to see how it is... i arrived went through the first rooms and suddenly i felt really sad and could get a slight imagination of the horror the people went through which were imprisoned at this time.... with all the pictures of dead bodies, the partially detailed descriptions how the people had been tortured and the barbwire on the corridors to avoid the prisoners commit suizide this place is really sad....... the next day i went to the killing fields outside of phnom penh.. here they brought the prisoners from S21 to execute und burried them there... it's a horrible place which has a lot of tension in the air and keeps you thinking for a while.... the rest of the time in phnom penh i spend with meeting people and go with them for a tuktuk drive (including bottles of vine) in the night.... after phnom penh i went to siem reap to visit the temples... time for templing..hoihohoho.... so i went up to siem reap and didn't expect that.... heat, humidity and no wind..... wow... it was like in all the other places i had been the last weeks ... as cheap as i am i didn't spend money for a room with aircon.. i hated myself for that later in the evening... so i was 3 days there and spend 2 days in the temple... everybody told me like an old dad from the marines "son, take minimum 3 days to visit the temple, you will be so overhelmed from the temples that you cannot do it faster".... actually i was overhelmed that i only visited the temples for 2 days and didn't use the 3rd day of my 3 day pass.... the temples are really cooooollllll.... but honestly, you must be really in to it to have fun 3 days looking at old stones... don't missunderstand my dear readers (i hope there are more than my sister) the temples are awesome, but..... if you have far above 30°C and air humidity of nearly 100% you're fed up after a while... so me and my dutch laywer travel mate decided to move on to battambang for a few days to relax... which we did... what about battambang, hmmmmm..... there is nothing really to tell about it... it's a bit south western of siem reap and there is nothing... except a good small hotel with pool and aircon... hahaha... which was the most visited place from my side the last few days in cambodia beside a motorbike tour through the surroundings of battambang... which was nice because i went of the track and spend about 3 hours on a dirty road..... on the 22nd i left to bangkok.... i didn't felt very well there.. i arrived in bangkok, pale and with no food in my stomach anymore... which didn't changed for the next days.... so i spend a lovely night in bangkok occupied by sleeping, fever attacks and womiting..... the day after i flew to singapore.... i was really afraid to fly this time... i had no idea what my body will do next to compromise me... but... he was nice and did nothing, except feeling bad... so in went to the check in counter and see there they ugraded me to business again... nice airline... and i had no chance to use all the good food and wine the offered there... waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh..... that sucks.... you get all the realllllyyyyy goooood stuffffff and you cannot eat or drink it.... everybody around me was eating and drinking... what about me? a glass of water and some bread.... OK, i also ate the cake from the lunch... but that's it, except on baileys... i couldn't stop myself to order and to drink it.... hmmmmmm....... so i'm in singapore now and take it easy... do some shopping, a bit of sightseeing and maybe going out a bit if my body says: hey dude let's rock'n roll!!!!
